Dancing With the Stars: Lisa Bennett

On April 27, 2013 10 local business celebrities will dance their heels off for their favorite local charity. Here is a little bit more about one of our dancers, Lisa Bennett of Radio Dubuque.

Charity: Honor Flight

I knew that I would choose a charity that supports veterans, since Radio Dubuque has always been very supportive of our local vets. I had a couple of ideas in mind, but then a good friend of mine told me about her experience as a guardian on the last Honor Flight. She enjoyed it so much that she wants to sign up again for the next Honor Flight. She also told me about her vet, he is from SW Wisconsin and so is she. After the trip she made a memory book of the entire day for her vet and presented it to him. She found out much later that he carries that memory book with him and shows people the memory book and shares the details of his Honor Flight Trip. I knew then that Honor Flight of Greater Dubuque was the charity I should dance for.
